UK Group company Nassau Industrial Doors have just completed the supply and installation of 81no Overhead sectional doors of which 9 were electrically operated with traffic light systems. The project also included the installation of dock shelters, and is yet another example of the close collaboration between UPS and Nassau.
The project began in December and all installation phases were quick and efficient enabling UPS to begin using the doors as soon as they were installed.
The contract was won by Nassau’s own Terry Salmon and Nigel Forster who assisted in the design, price and operation of the doors so that the new installation increases the warehouse’s efficiency. Nassau have not only provided the doors on a number of UPS sites, but also provide a nationwide 24 hours emergency service for all UPS distribution centres.
February 2018 saw the re-branding of UK Group Company Dover Vanguard.
The business will now operate under the title Dover Roller Shutters, a name that has been in existence since 1954 and which is synonymous and renowned for quality and service.
This re-brand also coincides with the introduction of two new products that Dover Roller Shutters are rolling out into the UK market.
The WL190 wide lath door has already found success within the US market via AMGroup Company Diamond Roll-Up Door Inc. The product is used widely on vehicle trailers and its steel construction provides a robust hard-wearing durable product that is becoming increasingly popular.
The CP380 Evolution door is a 100% recyclable steel composite panel sectional door, again mainly used in the truck and trailer industry. Expectations are that this product will gradually replace the timber sectional doors commonly used in the UK trailer market, and orders are already arriving even though the manufacturing of the product will only start next month. Dover Roller Shutters is investing in a comprehensive range of new machinery to update the existing manufacturing plant, which includes state of the art CNC machinery, mandrel track bending machines, spot welding equipment and a new 6 metre guillotine.
Effective of 1st March 2018, the AM Group proudly announced the purchase of Anvil Doors, located in Perth Western Australia.
Originally founded in 2000, Anvil Doors is a well-known and respected manufacturer of reliable and quality roller shutter products and services in the Western Australian commercial and industrial market. Their reputation has been achieved by maintaining high standards of strict quality control in the manufacture, delivery and installation of its products.
The Directors of the AM Group see great strategic benefits with the acquisition of Anvil Doors. Anvil Doors provides the group with a foothold in the WA market and offers the group a true national manufacturing base. The modern manufacturing facility is based at Landsdale WA and provides the group very good synergies and increased production capacity both in WA & the Eastern states.
The Anvil Doors name has been well regarded in the industry over a long period of time and we will do what it takes to maintain and grow its presence throughout Western Australia.
The Board of AM Group are pleased to welcome the Anvil Doors Business & it’s employees into the group.

IDE’s manufacturing engineers and team of fitters never give up on exceeding customer expectations. One of our regular valued customers; TATA Salt, had a busted door and it needed replacing. Our surveyors were quickly on the scene to ensure TATA salt could maintain their production line and prevent valuable materials from being ruined by the bad weather.
Within 24 hours we had surveyors go out to measure the door and a replacement door was manufactured straight from our factory. Disaster struck the following day with further flash floods in some parts of the UK. Our fitters were wading through rivers to get to the TATA site.
Following the battle with the river én route to TATA the damaged door was quickly replaced with a new electronically operated roller shutter door. As a result, TATA could get back to their busy schedule.
Back in March 2017 IDE won the contract for the manufacture and installation of 45 roller shutter doors. The building project is worth around £4.5 million and is a redevelopment of the market in Wrexham, North Wales.
Wynne construction are the main contractors and the refurbishment will include two galleries, one of which will be to national standards. The project aims to transform the market into a joint arts and market centre.
IDE took an opportunity eight months in, to see how the project was coming along, and to get an update of how smooth the project was progressing.
Continuing with this rolling programme of work at the site, Industrial Door Engineering have already installed nearly 30 of the 45no manual roller shutters without any problems.
Overall, we are happy with the progress and are confident in meeting the March deadline for completion of the final phases of works.
The building work at Industrial Door Engineering in Northwich, U.K. is now complete.
Following the investment in a new powder-coating plant and upgraded gas and electricity supplies to the site in the last 12 months, the last 3 months has seen the construction of a factory extension of 650 sq.m. and an office expansion of 80sq.m.
This latest phase of work has future-proofed the site and will allow significant increases in production capacity.
The works have been carried out by Spencer Wilkinson Construction with minimum disruption to the ongoing manufacturing operations and have been completed within the agreed timescales and budget.
July has seen the completion of a major door upgrade at the Morrison’s Distribution Centre in Northwich, Cheshire, UK by Group Company Industrial Door Engineering.
The project involved the installation of 16no. fast acting rapid roll doors at various locations throughout the site, including the Goods Inwards, Produce, and Recycling Departments.
The doors operate on a series of inductive loops that were installed by IDE using ‘no dust’ low noise specialist equipment that was necessary due to the food factory environment.
The doors will not only improve the efficiency of the distribution procedures on the site but will also form part of the physical barriers that prevent vermin and pest access into the buildings.
The building work at Industrial Door Engineering in Northwich, U.K. is starting to advance now.
