Industrial Door Engineering relished in the opportunity to recruit an apprentice into the business. As a company we are always looking for ways to increase our productivity and even incorporate fresh ideas from our apprenticeship scheme.
Our apprenticeship scheme aims to develop new talent to meet the demands of our growing business and to give the young person a great career opportunity. Offering young people apprenticeships gives our business the chance to play an active role in moulding our future workforce. By making the commitment to offer apprenticeships, we build strong employee loyalty increasing the chances of up-skilling, and more importantly retaining our highly skilled engineering workforce.
Harry Molyneux started his apprenticeship scheme with us at the start of September, and has been learning valuable skills within the door industry.

During the British Summer which lasts approximately a week, we went to visit Marshalls natural stone quarry in Huddersfield. The birthplace of the Rugby League. Marshalls stone quarry’s roller shutter was manual, but due to continuous use they decided an electric operated one would be more appropriate.
Our team headed out to the site to remove the old shutter which is considerably large, our focus was getting a 1no 3phase electric roller shutter operating as quickly as possible. The heat was a slight hinderance and annoyance but the job was completed on time and another customer completely satisfied.
IDE understand the importance of keeping hospitals functioning as efficiently as possible. This is why we had two local hospitals reach out to us to get their normal daily operations back up and running as quickly as possible.
We received contact from a Hospital in North Wales and a hospital in Wrexham over the weekend and were quickly on scene the following Tuesday replacing the older doors with 2no brand new electrically operated roller shutters.
The first was the roller shutter for the physiotherapy reception, this has been stuck shut over the weekend and were looking at getting it replaced. The team were quick to remove the old one and replace with a perforated electrically operated roller shutter, the staff at the hospital were more than happy with the speed of service and quality of shutter.
Our second job for the day was the removal of an older shutter at the rear of the hospital which was used for goods deliveries. A very quick turn around time with quick removal of the old door and easy installation of the new electrically operated roller shutter with key switch.
A fantastic day spent helping the NHS.
Dover Roller Shutters are excited to have received three new pieces of manufacturing equipment. The CNC machine, mandrel bender and track bender have all recently arrived on site. This new machinery will be used to manufacture one of the latest environmentally friendly vehicle composite panel door on the market to date.

We are now taking orders for the new products and cannot wait to see companies adopt more greener and environmentally friendly products.
IDE’s manufacturing engineers and team of fitters never give up on exceeding customer expectations. One of our regular valued customers; TATA Salt, had a busted door and it needed replacing. Our surveyors were quickly on the scene to ensure TATA salt could maintain their production line and prevent valuable materials from being ruined by the bad weather.
Within 24 hours we had surveyors go out to measure the door and a replacement door was manufactured straight from our factory. Disaster struck the following day with further flash floods in some parts of the UK. Our fitters were wading through rivers to get to the TATA site.
Following the battle with the river én route to TATA the damaged door was quickly replaced with a new electronically operated roller shutter door.
As a result, TATA could get back to their busy schedule.
UK Group company Nassau Industrial Doors have just completed the supply and installation of 81no Overhead sectional doors of which 9 were electrically operated with traffic light systems. The project also included the installation of dock shelters, and is yet another example of the close collaboration between UPS and Nassau.
The project began in December and all installation phases were quick and efficient enabling UPS to begin using the doors as soon as they were installed.
The contract was won by Nassau’s own Terry Salmon and Nigel Forster who assisted in the design, price and operation of the doors so that the new installation increases the warehouse’s efficiency. Nassau have not only provided the doors on a number of UPS sites, but also provide a nationwide 24 hours emergency service for all UPS distribution centres.
February 2018 saw the re-branding of UK Group Company Dover Vanguard.
The business will now operate under the title Dover Roller Shutters, a name that has been in existence since 1954 and which is synonymous and renowned for quality and service.
This re-brand also coincides with the introduction of two new products that Dover Roller Shutters are rolling out into the UK market.
The WL190 wide lath door has already found success within the US market via AMGroup Company Diamond Roll-Up Door Inc. The product is used widely on vehicle trailers and its steel construction provides a robust hard-wearing durable product that is becoming increasingly popular.
The CP380 Evolution door is a 100% recyclable steel composite panel sectional door, again mainly used in the truck and trailer industry. Expectations are that this product will gradually replace the timber sectional doors commonly used in the UK trailer market, and orders are already arriving even though the manufacturing of the product will only start next month. Dover Roller Shutters is investing in a comprehensive range of new machinery to update the existing manufacturing plant, which includes state of the art CNC machinery, mandrel track bending machines, spot welding equipment and a new 6 metre guillotine.
