Back in March 2017 IDE won the contract for the manufacture and installation of 45 roller shutter doors. The building project is worth around £4.5 million and is a redevelopment of the market in Wrexham, North Wales.
Wynne construction are the main contractors and the refurbishment will include two galleries, one of which will be to national standards. The project aims to transform the market into a joint arts and market centre.
IDE took an opportunity eight months in, to see how the project was coming along, and to get an update of how smooth the project was progressing.
Continuing with this rolling programme of work at the site, Industrial Door Engineering have already installed nearly 30 of the 45no manual roller shutters without any problems.
Overall, we are happy with the progress and are confident in meeting the March deadline for completion of the final phases of works.

Following the investment in a new powder-coating plant and upgraded gas and electricity supplies to the site in the last 12 months, the last 3 months has seen the construction of a factory extension of 650 sq.m. and an office expansion of 80sq.m.
This latest phase of work has future-proofed the site and will allow significant increases in production capacity.
The works have been carried out by Spencer Wilkinson Construction with minimum disruption to the ongoing manufacturing operations and have been completed within the agreed timescales and budget.
July has seen the completion of a major door upgrade at the Morrison’s Distribution Centre in Northwich, Cheshire, UK by Group Company Industrial Door Engineering.
The project involved the installation of 16no. fast acting rapid roll doors at various locations throughout the site, including the Goods Inwards, Produce, and Recycling Departments.
The doors operate on a series of inductive loops that were installed by IDE using ‘no dust’ low noise specialist equipment that was necessary due to the food factory environment.
The doors will not only improve the efficiency of the distribution procedures on the site but will also form part of the physical barriers that prevent vermin and pest access into the buildings.

The new Reception Area and Factory Mess Room have already been finished.
UK Group Company, Industrial Door Engineering has completed the next phase of re-development work at the Airbus UK site in Broughton, Chester.
The project, known as Hanger 97, involved the construction of a new warehouse which included the manufacture and installation of 4no. electrically operated insulated roller shutter doors with vision sections and powder-coated finish.
The project, which was carried out in conjunction with Construction Company Hollingsworth & Ellery also included the installation of 3no. high security steel hinged doors.

Sales manager Garry Cannon had been in discussions with Lock Systems of Poland and also visited their premises to instruct on fitting the shutters and to discuss further projects.
When Warrington based Company Colas faced a dilemma with a faulty 30 year old folding shutter door that measured over 12 metres in width, they approached AMGroup Company Industrial Door Engineering to come up with a solution.
The answer was to dismantle the existing folding shutter, install supporting steelwork and fit a solid insulated panel wall on one half of the door opening, and supply and fit an electrically operated roller shutter door coupled with a fabric rapid roll door in the other half of the doorway.
This has provided Colas with a system that is efficient both from an operational point of view and also for heat cost savings benefits.
Group company, Dover Vanguard have won a contract to supply Advanced Handling with (56) powder coated RAL 5011 Blue – 1EA roller shutters for the Eurostar Terminal.
Two shutters will be fitted to each of the luggage trolleys used on station platforms and around the Eurostar facility.

So far, Dover Vanguard have supplied 40 shutters from the contract with the remainder due for despatch within the next month.
F.P.McCann is the UK’s largest manufacturer and supplier of precast concrete solutions. It is currently redeveloping two of its sites, at Byley, Cheshire and Grantham, Lincolnshire.
Both sites require a number of large roller shutter doors and AMGroup Company Industrial Door Engineering has secured the order for 11no. large electrically operated roller shutters doors at the sites.
The doors range from 6m wide x 6m high up to 8m wide and 6m high.
This is the first project that I.D.E. will be undertaking for the Northern Ireland based firm, but F.P.McCann were not just looking for a reputable manufacturer of industrial doors, but also a company that they could call upon to provide emergency repair and service should the need arise, something that is second nature to I.D.E.
