About Our Australian Operations

Monsoon Industries Pty Ltd was founded by Matthew A. Baxter in 1972 and this was the first step towards the development of the AMgroup as it is today.

Monsoon Industries started as a manufacturer of roller shutter for truck bodies. Over time it developed a wide range of roller shutter products for the commercial and industrial buildings.

In 1986 Monsoon Industries acquired one of its major Sydney competitors Austral Roller Shutters Pty Ltd and this is the basis of the Austral Monsoon brand name.

Australian operations then expanded geographically from its Sydney base through the establishment of branch offices and business acquisitions associated with roller shutter products. Other acquisitions have provided the opportunity to expand and diversify the products offered by the Group.

Our Australian operations now comprises 6 unique businesses.

Our primary activity is manufacturing proprietary metal based products for the commercial and industrial building markets and truck body / tailer industry.

We also provide repair and maintenance services for commercial and industrial door products covering both our own proprietary products and those of our competitors.

Manufacturing facilities are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide and are complimented by branch offices or resellers throughout the Country.

Australian sales revenues constitute approximately 60% of the AMgroup.
