Austral Monsoon Building Products recently completed the $16.5 million Belmont Shooting Complex upgrade, the shooting complex will host the Clay Target, Full Bore and other shooting events for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Austral Monsoon Building Products working with the head contractor Broad Constructions Queensland provided “Koolbreeze” fixed ventilation louvers to various buildings throughout the facility, The “Koolbreeze” ventilation louvers where manufactured from both powder coated aluminium and Opal Polycarbonate, depending on the location, the “Koolbreeze” Opal polycarbonate louvers are selected where ventilation and diffused light is required.
Mirage Doors were approached to install two glazed Bifolding doors to the existing glass building.
These are 4 meter x 4 meter S3000 motorised Bifold doors to provide access to move cars in and out of the main showroom. Special attention was needed to provide glass to match the 15 year old custom E-glass of the building. We achieved this with viridian E-comfort 10.38mm glass.
K Mart has been undergoing a refurbishment of their store throughout Australia over the past three years. It has been proven by K Mart that a contemporary shopfront presentation directly correlates to high customer volumes and sales.
In Queensland, Mirage Doors has forged a positive relation with Samways Building & Construction to help K Mart achieve their objectives.
The most recent upgrade completion was in Mackay in North Queensland, where a single Series 3 roller shutter was used to span two opening bays. This replaced 30 year old counterweight doors. Wideview ventilation slots were added to optimise air flow capabilities. All work was completed after hours in one night, without disruption to existing trade.
The Mackay project was the 26th fitout between Samways and Mirage Doors Qld. in the past three years.
The LEGO LAND DISCOVERY CENTRE has now opened at Chadstone Shopping centre. This is an Australian first for this type of store providing rides, build and play zones and a 4D cinema.
Mirage doors supplied the two entrance doors as Series 3 Aluminium Roller shutters, in custom Yellow powder coat to match the Lego yellow store colours. These have perforation sections to aid airflow, with solid top and bottom sections to meet smoke baffle requirements.
Mount Gambier Prison is located in the District Council of Grant, approximately 10 kilometres west of Mount Gambier in a farming community. It currently accommodates around 453 low and medium
Group company Lietzke Security is please to be supplying and installing the security windows and doors to the expansion.
This project proposes to expand the prison by 112 beds, taking the prison capacity to 605 low and medium prisoners by 2018. Sixteen of these beds have already been brought on-line. The remaining beds will be accommodated in five two-storey complexes, each complex comprising four independent living units.
In addition to accommodation expansion, there will be an additional industries building and support building, which comprises an officers station, multifunction programs and education rooms, and recreational
indoor space. There will also be a refit for a new visits area, new medical facilities and new video conferencing.
The expansion of Mount Gambier Prison will increase the capacity of the South Australian prison system, with the current estimated capacity of 3,243 beds by the end of financial year 2017-18.
The Trade Coast Industrial Estate is located near Brisbane Airport at Eagle Farm, and is rated amongst the premium industrial estates in Queensland.
McNab Constructions have been a significant builder in this estate, and recently awarded Mirage Doors the subcontract for roller shutters in the new warehouse on Lot 35 for Bevchain.
The subcontract comprised 32 no. S100 motorised steel roller shutters.

In Queensland Mirage Doors enjoys an exceptional relationship with Hutchinson Builders, and we currently are involved together with the upgrade of the Aspley Village Shopping Centre on Brisbane’s Northside. The scope of work includes adding roller shutters to new and existing tenancies, and providing roller shutters to fire hose reel cabinets for the fire dept. upgrade compliance. Approx. 20 tenancies are being built or refurbished, and Mirage Doors is the prominent provider of shopfront doors on the project.
UK Group Company, Industrial Door Engineering has completed the next phase of re-development work at the Airbus UK site in Broughton, Chester.
The project, known as Hanger 97, involved the construction of a new warehouse which included the manufacture and installation of 4no. electrically operated insulated roller shutter doors with vision sections and powder-coated finish.
The project, which was carried out in conjunction with Construction Company Hollingsworth & Ellery also included the installation of 3no. high security steel hinged doors.
The multi-million dollar renovations of the Railway Club Hotel in rural Seymour were recently completed and the hotel is now open to patrons. The renovations included a new outdoor entertaining area incorporating a fully functioning bar area.
Ansa Doors supplied and installed its “E87” Clearvision Polycarbonate Roller Shutters to secure the bar area outside of operating hours. The door solution incorporates removable guide mullions that allow for an obstruction free bar top area when the doors are in the opened position. The doors provide a very functional and aesthetically attractive solution to this newly renovated premises.
Working with Icon Construction – Austral Monsoon delivered 4 high quality roller shutters for the Paragon Apartments Project in Zetland NSW.
The development is comprised of 192 dwellings including 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments with several apartments being 2 storey. The project also incorporates, basement car parking, 5,000 m2 retail space, child care, gym, restaurants and cafes which are contained within 3 buildings around a landscaped public plaza. The project took 19 Months to complete, with the development valued at $75M.
In cooperation with Icon, Austral Monsoon provided 3 Carpark roller shutters as well as one Loading dock roller shutter. The car park roller shutters are designed for high use and utilise smart logics systems to incorporate loop detector and smart card control, with a safety traffic light system for the single entry / exit carpark shutter.
