Group company Austral Monsoon Building Products have recently been awarded the contract to supply and install Stormglaze Operable Louvres to the The Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources (NIER) building at the University of Newcastle.
The louvres will be integrated with the building management system to provide automated climate control.
Group company Austral Monsoon Building Products (AMBP) together with head contractor Sommer & Staff have recently completed a project at St Marys College, Ipswich.
AMBP manufactured and installed large format extruded aluminium sun fins, which provided a striking visual accent to the building façade.
Group company Austral Monsoon has recently worked with Co-Wyn Builders on the supply and installation of ten glazed AT100 counterweight Bifold Doors.
The installation took place at the Holy Cross College School Ryde in Sydney’s northwest.
Group company Austral Monsoon has recently completed the supply and installation of a number of doors for the new Sydney Business Park, located in the western Sydney suburb of Marsden Park.
Thus far, Austral Monsoon have supplied:
- Thirteen steel and aluminium roller shutters for Ikea, working with FDC Construction & Fitout;
- Four steel roller shutters for Bunnings Warehouse working with Drayton Constructions; and
- Five steel roller shutters for Masters working with Quasar Constructions.
We have still to supply a number of Shutters for Lindt, working with Qanstruct.
Group comany Mirage Doors NSW, working with Watpac Constructions have successfully manufactured, supplied and installed five Series 3000 Bifold Counterweight doors.
The doors were installed at the Overseas Passenger Terminal Circular Quay, overlooking Sydney’s iconic Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
Given the location of the works, construction took place with minimal disruption to the day-to-day operations.
Group company Austral Monsoon has recently manufactured and installed a number of shutters for Lend Lease at the Barangaroo redevelopment on Sydney Harbour.
A total of six 100mm steel shutters were installed, featuring powder coated and fully perforated curtains.
Group company Austral Monsoon is currently involved in the roll out of the new electronic Opal Card system on the Sydney Trains network.
Working with engineering company OX Engineering, Austral Monsoon is supplying 70 Austral Monsoon N35 Aluminium Roller Shutters which are being customised to suit to the gate control consoles and the railway control pods.
Group company Mirage Doors has been successful in securing a subcontract from John Holland for three roller shutters and twelve counterweight doors on the QUT Creative Industries Redevelopment at Kelvin Grove on Brisbane’s inner northside. QUT is a major university in Brisbane, and this latest work involves refurbishment of a heritage building as well as a new 5 storey performing arts building. The glazed counterweight doors will be installed in the heritage building, and the metal clad counterweight doors will be part of the new construction.
Many of the John Holland site personnel were known to Mirage from our work in 2011 – 2014 at Enoggera Army Barracks, where over 300 roller shutters were installed in this period. Mirage Qld has strong positive working relationships with the vast majority of the Tier 1 builders in Qld and is well regarded for offering professional advice and project management on a vast array of building situations.
Group company Mirage Doors has just completed Stage 1 of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (S.C.U.H.) at Birtinya. This hospital is the first brand new hospital on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in over 30 years. Mirage’s relationship with Lend Lease has been successful and prominent for many years, and the successful installation of approx. 220 roller shutters on the Gold Coast University Hospital project in 2013 / 2014 was a strong precursor in securing this latest contract.
Mirage is currently in negotiations with Lend Lease on Stage 2 of the S.C.U.H. project, and are hopeful of a successful outcome by the end of July.
